About Me

Loving both art and music, I built up a portfolio at Edinburgh College of Art's evening classes whilst studying for my diploma in music (violin performance) at Napier College (now Napier University) back in the late 1980's. Following two years at Napier, I auditioned for the R.S.A.M.D (now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) in Glasgow and also submitted my portfolio to Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee. Gaining acceptance to both, I made the difficult choice to follow my path in music and study at the R.S.A.M.D, but my love for art continued and I never stopped painting and drawing.

Spring forward quite a few years and after a lot of professional music success, my artist mum opened a workshop in a beautiful old vacant Coach House at the foot of the Campsie Fells, and from that grew a very successful family business incorporating a gallery & craft shop showing Scottish artists & makers, and a fabulous coffee shop where my dad indulged his love of cooking. We ran this for sixteen years and I worked there on and off over the years up until it's sale. Jump forward some more years to December 2019, and I opened (with another artist and a framer) C.O.A.S.T Gallery & Gifts in the Ayrshire seaside town of Troon. We exhibit Scottish artists and makers, and are nestled in behind a super wee coffee shop! The reaction to our business has been nothing short of wonderful, and despite launching in possibly the hardest possible year, we know what we are doing is appreciated and welcomed. Local artists & makers, quality well priced art & products, relaxed & welcoming ambience, exceptional customer care. It is wonderful to be making and selling my art, and developing a product range featuring my art including homeware, clothing, soft furnishings & jewellery. I am loving producing bespoke homeware from lampshades to cushions & blinds for clients - I love the smiles as my sketches become a 3D reality for them and they leave desperate to see their purchases in situ. Looking forward to getting back to the gallery and seeing all our lovely customers as soon as is permitted for us to do so.
